Photo of the Day: Beanstalk, as in Jack and the
These insanely huge plant grows next to my garage and since I've been doing a lot of work in said garage of late (who will have the best garage sale evah?), I've been admiring these.
I have NO idea what kind of plant this is. They grow incredibly tall though. Seriously, I didn't crouch down to give this a deceptive angle or perspective. I took this from my height looking up. And I'm tall for a girl (hehe).
I should post a shot of the flowers to give ya'll a better idea. But I love this shot because of the bokeh.

Those thorny things in the middle look sort of menacing. Nice!
P.S. I was just reading the "Meet the Crazy Lady" page and cringed when I learned that you're trying to move to Portland. WTF? Why does everyone swoon over the city that continues to ruin my love life?!?
thanks!
do you live in Portland? or is Portland stealing all your prospects? I do confess to hearting Portland. it may have to do with the sucky ass small college town I live in now with unbearably hot summers and no men between the ages of 21 and 45 that are remotely dateable. plus, there are several people there that make it a desirable place pour moi.
oh and thanks for reading! you seem full of awesome sauce! :)
They kinda look like wannabe fuzzy artichokes... or am I just hungry... who knows! Cheers!
mmmmmm artichokes!
ick, artichokes you mean.
Really, really nice picture though
no, pretty sure I meant YUM!
:) Thanks!
Do said beanstalk-esque plants flower? If so, you may be dealing with delphinium, one of my most uber favorites.
it does and I have photos of the flowers, but I didn't love them as much. I will show you sometime.
